Al-Salt
Salt is located in the center of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the
center of Balqa. About 10 kilometers west of the capital Amman, and
rises from the sea level by 880 meters. Its population in 2015 was
99,890, the eighth largest city in the Kingdom.The city is
located on the old main road from Amman to Jerusalem, on the incinerator
of the Balqa mountains. It is called Saltos, in relation to the Greek
leader who opened the time of Alexander the Macedonian and built a
temple for the gods Zeus in the area of Ze attributed to him.
