Ajlun

The marvels of nature and the genius of medieval Arab military architecture have given northern Jordan two of the most important ecological and historical attractions in the Middle East: the sprawling pine forests of the Ajlun-Dibbine area, and the towering Ayyubid castle at Ajlun, which helped to defeat the Crusaders eight centuries ago. 

Locals often take advantage of the green landscapes of Ajlun to take a break from city life and connect with nature.

Ajloun is a city in north-west Jordan, a city surrounded by high mountains known as the Ajloun mountain range. 

And knew the name of the old name (Gilead) means hardness or roughness, and knew Ajloun this name relative to the name of the monk residence of Mount Auf in the area of ​​the castle, and Ajloun is a link between the Levant and the Mediterranean coast, has recognized this importance Muslim leader Saladin where he ordered Izz al-Din Osama, one of the leaders of his army built the castle on the top of Mount Auf in (580 AH – 1184).
